| About There Probably Isn't... |

This website has been put together by an atheist in order to present an opportunity for individuals to explore the other other side of the debate arising out of the Atheist Bus and Poster campaign. You can see the original articles and ideas that gave rise to the whole endeavour here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/jun/20/transport.religion This site is an attempt to simply present real people's stories of their atheism and their rejection of myth, legend, gods, goddesses and other mythical beings. It is also an attempt to provide a centralised resource for atheists to receive resources to engage in the debate openly and positively. The content of this website should in no way be taken to reflect the views and beliefs of any of us, as most atheists, free thinkers and the like are as different as chalk and cheese; trying to get us to agree on any one topic is about as effective as herding cats. All views and opinions expressed are singularly those of the person who has written the content. Atheism is not a belief - it is a lack of belief. It's surprising how many times we hear "atheism is a religion!"; it isn't. It is a rejection of theism - it has no central tenets, no dogma, no leaders, no legends. It does not take as much faith to disbelieve as it does to believe. Once you realise why you don't believe in Zeus, Odin, Mithras, Ra or Apocatequil, you may begin to understand why we don't believe in your god.
